Browsers continue to gain more importance these days. Since we continue to move further and further into the Cloud, we live more and more inside our browsers. Whereas we used to just find a few choices, now we can find a browser to match any style.
I switched to Google’s Chrome about a year ago, finally leaving the bloat and memory leaks that were Firefox. While I really like Chrome and its features, the closed nature of it put me off. Time for Chromium! Chromium, the open source of Chrome, is available for all operating systems, Mac, Linux, and Windows, so you can use your preference. While it shares the same source set as Chrome, I think we will see Chromium begin to include some new features that other browsers do not.
