SOPA

The Norm and Not the Exception on January 18th, 2012So quite the exciting week…with the SOPA/PIPA blackout.  So good to see so many major sites like Wikipedia close down for the day.  We did our part, here at K-12 Open Source Classroom, going dark for the day on January 18th.  I hope each of you took the time to email your Congressman/woman.  I would say many of us did, as so many members of Congress really distanced themselves fro these bills.  Hopefully that will be the end, but if we know the recording industry, they will try to sneak it again at some point.  Constant Vigilance!

I do like the article below that TechDirt ran.  Seems RIAA and MPAA are crying foul that they have no way to reach all these people like the Internet can.  Hmm…whose fault is it you did not change your business model back in the 90s?  You could be right in on all this, but no, you decided to sue people.  Oh, and since you own tv, your silent news coverage, or non coverage, is pretty loud and clear too.
