Cloud, cloud, cloud. We continually hear that, but do you really know what it means? Simply enough, you put clouds out in the web, so that you can access them anywhere. Think of Google Docs. You create documents on Google’s servers, and you can access them anywhere. So sounds good, but want a little more control? Then you want Polkast, an Android app that allows you to create a ‘personal web’ for your files.
Definitely a helpful thing, if you possess many devices. Myself, I still have the EVO for my phone (hopefully Sprint releases the Galaxy Nexus SOON), a Samsung Galaxy Tab, an Archos 101, the wife’s Samsung Intercept, and the old gTab. Lots of devices, and lots of need to access a variety of documents. It will allow you to access your files through a computer or another device–they virtualize your files to allow you to access them from anywhere. For schools–I can definitely see this application when you have multiple devices. Students can put their files on Polkast, allowing the teacher, and maybe even other students, access.
