Ok, maybe I do not represent the typical user of technology. Maybe Apple’s iPad is for the masses and folks like me are few and far behind. But there is just something about trying a variety of OSs, kernels, ROMs on devices. I guess it started with me in Linux back in ’06 (wow–I have been using Linux for 6 years!). The ability to try a variety of OSs.
This really does show relevance for schools though–especially those utilizing Android. My plan is to develop my own ROM, possibly using a new app, http://easydevstudio.com/home/, built on Illumination Software Creator. The developer of the latter is one of the hosts of The Linux Action Show, a great podcast I follow. I definitely like to tinker!
