Our district had been toying around with switching from Dell for awhile now. Over $1000 for a desktop. Over $1400 for a laptop. With decreasing budgets and more focus on online testing and 1:1s, the writing was on the wall. Although Dell knew we would not switch. And we knew we would not switch. We knew Dell. We knew their internal hardware. We knew our rep well.
Guess what? It’s the 21st Century. We DID migrate to a new vendor–Lenovo. Desktops $250 cheaper. Laptops $300-500 cheaper. And for me? After July 1, I will buy one of these sweet Think Pad X1 Carbons. Woot! Can’t wait to get Ubuntu on there. Pretty impressed with their chicklet style keyboards as well.
Now to look at their tablets. Yup, they do make Android tablets!
