We want to use all these great, high-powered, cheap devices to promote higher-level thinking. Over and over, we have wanted to find great ways to hit the higher levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy: creation, analysis, and evaluation among other things. Remove all those drill and kill activities. How about recording audio. You want to interview someone for a project. You, like my wife, want to record your conversation with a mentee teacher you are working with. No problem, right? Android–we can download Tape-a-Talk, Smart Voice Recorder, and Sound Recorder. Three quickies I found on the Google Play store. Free and all letting you connect to your tab, pull off the files and email, put them in a project.
So, Apple your turn. Let’s go ahead…let’s look for one…um…*crickets*. Ok, so found one. I can connect through iTunes, download…oh…no. I can buy the app, and get permission to email it to myself. But I CAN’T HAVE ACCESS TO MY OWN FILE SYSTEM? Really?
