So I do not like to act like a tech elitist, but this comic really does hit on something I struggle with daily. How long has technology, particularly workstations, resided in K-12 classrooms? Ten years? Fifteen? So why do we continue to see the same issues? People unable to open applications. People looking at you blankly when you mention ‘bookmarking’ or ‘favoriting’ a website. Why do we still need Intro to Word workshops. Yes, many of these are few and far between, but they still exist. Lack of funds for professional development definitely play a part, but should educators possess a baseline set of skills in technology? And if so, what should happen if they do not? Just some random thoughts, but things I think of regularly these days.
