You know, educational and political cartoons are not to sting this much. You look at the comic, and you really begin to see the future of education. Really sad, because as we begin to make progress with technology, including programs like STEM, we will soon have the breaks applied.
In our state, we will see between 5 and 10% cuts to education across the board. That will dramatically change the classroom and the server room. My own predicament makes me think I could lose a position, that would make response time grow by days. How likely do you think teachers will continue to use technology when they do not receive support? How likely will they try new things on their own?
Unfortunately public education does not have the lobbyists like banking, oil, and other businesses. In fact, in North Carolina, they are pretty much illegal for us to collectively bargain. For that, I cannot quite comprehend this. Corporations want schools to turn out a better student, so what do we do, we cut education. Do you really think this will help? It just totally astounds me that with these new technologies, we will cut education. Not an upbeat post, and really not much content, but just some rambling thoughts.
